Cheese Ball

As a kid, I remember cheese balls from Hickory Farms. My Mom would serve them usually around the holidays with their beef stick. Probably all totally processed. I've been wanting to make this homemade version every since I saw it in blog land at Tracey's Culinary Adventures. Knew it was best made when we were having friends over because I could probably eat most of it on my own.

It was really easy to make, cream cheese, jalapenos, bacon, pecans... need i say more. It was delicious and a big hit with everyone :)

Beach Hut Gift Bags

My DD wants to have a beach themed birthday party this year with a treasure hunt followed by swimming at her Grandparents. I know the beach would be better, but guaranteed it will be too cold and if it rains we'd end up in their pool anyway.

I wanted to make goodie bags that could the girls could use again. And I was looking for another reason to order cute fabric and make some more drawstring bags :). Check out this fabric I found by Michael Miller, always love his fabrics...

How perfect, right? I just love it when a theme comes together!

This is the first one, I used the stripes on the inside.

I think they're going to be so cute all lined up, hope they all enjoy them!

Sunny Afternoon

Today didn't start out too hot weather-wise, but by the end of the day... Sun! It was so nice that me & my little man laid in the grass and watched the clouds float by. You just don't know how much the sun really does boost your spirit until you don't get enough of it. Darling daughter came home from a class camping trip with lots of stories to tell which made it an extra-special afternoon :)

Thought I'd snap a quick shot of my little Granny Triangles. They're coming along quite well. Think I'm going to try and make some little stars for a few of them. I like making these because they are quick.

Granny Triangle Project

One of my favourite crochet blogs is Attic24. I always find inspiration on that site because of the bright colours Lucy uses in her crochet.

So, she put out a challenge to her blog readers to help make Granny Triangles for a bunting that will be used at Yarndale. I thought it would be a way to pay her back for all that I have learned from her great tutorials.

She needs them by the end of July, so I thought if I used red, white & blue I could use them for July 4th before sending them away.
Here are my first 2. :)
